We all take pride in our homes and want them to look their best. They are a haven that we retreat to at the end of a busy day, nowhere else could ever be as comforting.

As we find them so comfortable, we can sometimes be content to stick with the décor that we have become so used to – in fact sometimes we don’t even really see it! Lights, especially ceiling lights, often tend to be an unintended focal point of the room simply because of where they are placed. Smack bang in the centre of the room amidst a white ceiling – they are bound to stand out! Lamps will also tend to stand out as they will be in darker, less interesting corners of the room and become an artwork all of their own.

1. If you have a Bayonet Cap suspension, ensure that you get a shade ring reducer to ensure it will fit (most will now be manufactured to fit an E27 (ES) suspension)
2. Make sure that you use the correct wattage of bulb to best suit the new shade (if in doubt, all LED bulbs will be safe to use)
