Whilst we may be knee-deep into 2024 already, some trends seem here to stay and we think it’s worth making a guide on how to achieve the current styles in your own home!

Quiet Luxury

This huge buzzword seems set to stay, transcending fashion and now interior trends and cementing itself into a new lifestyle much like the infamous ‘clean girl aesthetic’. But what exactly does it refer to?

Quiet luxury encapsulates the notion of sticking to classic investment pieces that transcend trends. These pieces are beautifully crafted and perhaps subtly recognisable by those in the know. In interior design, it is reflected by luxurious fabrics, rich woods and quieter patterns, moving away from the overly curated Instagram home, bold accessories and quick furniture.

This trend’s timeless appeal is why many believe it is here to stay, acting as a recognition of the value of quality pieces that mean something to the individual and will stand the test of time. Explore our classically elegant lighting for yourself here.

You can achieve this through lighting by investing in a quality light that takes the form of a classic design appropriate for your home. For example, if living in a traditional property, opt for a subtle chandelier that matches the period of the architecture, or a sleek and timeless pendant for a more modern home. But really the ultimate way to nail this style is investing in a piece you know you truly love and will transition with you and your style for years to come.

Cherry Red Pops

This playful trend has been seen popping up everywhere!

It seems in 2024 interior trends are following that of fashion and as such we have seen an increase in the use of red for smaller accents in the home such as in lighting, ornaments and smaller soft furnishings.

This can be a great way to add a bit of fun dynamism to your space and create the unexpected with ease and at little expense. With other trends running alongside this one such as the growth of brown tones, a pop of red fits right in. Try a playful cherry red table lamp for example!

Espresso!

Gone is cream, goodbye beige, its all about brown now!

There’s been a huge shift in 2024 following the chokehold beige had on us for half a decade towards deeper tones of brown in either warm or cool tones. This welcome sight creates a wonderfully inviting environment. Pair with other interior trends such as natural fabrics and rough linens to nail this colour trend.

The brown tones really help to create a rich and mature environment in your home!

Organic forms

In 2024 we’re looking at reconnecting with nature through our lifestyles and that’s shining through in our designs too.

A big shift towards organic shapes and forms in our homes reflect this sentiment and you can take it a step further with pieces made from sustainable materials.

Vintage Lighting

Specific to lighting, there’s been a big resurge of investing in vintage lighting pieces from the 30s onwards, with these pleasant retro styles making a huge comeback in current collections too!

Whilst there is so much charm and sustainability in using vintage lighting pieces, it can be tricky to check their wiring and plugs are still safe for use and so our vintage style lighting is a worry free way to achieve the same look.

Look for scalloped edges and fanned or tulip shades to achieve this trend.

Human-centric designs

This macro trend has been on the steady rise for a few years now as we push towards designs that centre on supporting us and our wellbeing. Lighting is huge for this as it has such immediate effects to our environment and mood.

You can design full human-centric lighting concepts for your home that support your needs by implementing a scheme that accounts for the activities you do in the space as well as the atmosphere you desire. For example bright whiter lighting for areas of work or focus and warm dimmer lighting for areas you want to wind down in.

Another level to this revolves around supporting your natural circadian rhythm. You can help support your natural rhythm through your lighting choices! For example you could install dimmable lights to reduce the level of light in the evenings to match the natural cycle; zone areas with different lighting temperatures depending on the time of day you spend in them eg. amber bulbs for the bedroom to reduce blue light waves. Or you could even achieve this through lighting that can adjust their warmth throughout the day!

Whilst we’ve seen an uptick in the adoption of these trends at the beginning of this year, we truly think they’re great long-term too, as long as you’re making conscious thoughtful purchases that are right for you, there’s no harm in a little inspiration from others!
