If you need inspiration for a home decor let Lighting And Lights blog inspire you. We take you a world away with global trends and style to bring character to your home. Our inspiration comes from far flung places where tropical airs invigorate our adventurous nature and soothe our troubles away…

We work hard all year round and therefore crave our holidays with great anticipation. Whether our time away is learning about culture, completing challenging activities, a spot of lunch after shopping or simply soaking up the rays, we select our holidays with care and attention, focusing on the things that make us happy.

We look forward to these holidays for a long time, however, we can all recall that there is nothing worse than the feeling when you return home to a musty smelling house and the washing machine is on overdrive…

As we progress through our daily lives, imagine if we paid the same attention to detail to the everyday humdrum as we do to our holidays? Perhaps throughout our homes? Little touches of care, attention, love and wonderment to make our time spent in the cocoon of our homes a joy and comfort.

There are many ways that you can introduce this look into a room in your home, some of which we have listed below:

Our favourite way of bringing this theme alive is lighting. After all, your room will be pretty dark without it! By bringing some styles that are inspired from your favourite place will instantly add credibility to the design that you are striving for. We have selected our favourite lights with inspiration from some of the top holiday destinations. Go on – treat yourself to a holiday feeling that will last a lot longer than a week or two!

INDIA:

Original BTC COACH – Lamp White

Inspired by coach lights that are regularly used on the Indian railways, this pretty wall light is made in bone china. We love the attention to detail the ceiling rose central column and arms are all decorated with a leaf detail. An aged effect shows the paint layers and artistically painted rust spots. Shabby Chic is not the description we’d use for this quality light fitting, it is an authentic French antique re-created by artisans.

Lincoln American Lighting KINGSLEY – 9 Light Chandelier

Beautiful elegant ceiling light fitting gloriously classic with hand applied silver leaf. Lovely glass bobesches (candle drips) and cast finials. Teamed with the rich ivory offset pleated shades. A romantic classical light which would be perfect in a dining room. Although a very grand light it suits both formal or relaxed dining styles. There is a word in Danish called ‘hygge’ which sums up these acts of kindness to yourselves throughout the home. But what about taking it one step further? What about bringing favoured elements of our holiday home with us? No, not sand and sea (it could get a bit messy), but introducing elements into our home interiors that echo the essence of our favourite locations? If you team this with a relaxing room in the home, such as a bedroom or the living room, you can be spirited to the restful shores once more without having to leave your cosy home.

An on-trend and useful table lamp in a polished copper finish. The style is heavily influenced by a mid 20th Century French design that were extremely popular in kitchens, cafes and bistros. This retro lamp is adjustable at three points to ensure that you can direct the light as you require, this features swivel joints at the base of the lamp and shade and also where the arms meet. This makes it useful as both a reading or task light and is therefore ideal to use next to bedsides, in living rooms or on a desk in a home office. It adds character and charm to traditional, retro and industrial settings.

![""]("https://www.lightingandlights.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/sunset-1009460_1920-1024x523.jpg")
