As sustainability becomes increasingly important in all aspects of design, lighting is no exception. In 2023/2024, expect to see more lighting solutions that are sustainable and energy efficient. Eco-friendly in terms of power consumption along with using materials that are sustainable. I think now we all know that power consumption is a priority to this end LED lighting will continue to be popular. But there will also be a rise in solar-powered exterior lighting.

Additionally, designers will incorporate natural materials like bamboo and cork into their lighting designs to create a more sustainable and earthy feel. Natural materials made from plants that can be regrown easily sometimes within a single growing season.

Natural fabrics and materials have additional benefits to the woven nature allowing a lovely balance between light and shade that brings a lovely ambient light that’s pleasant to be in. The neutral colours also allow the look to fit with most decorative styles.
