Hexagonal Lights

Here at Lighting and Lights, we’re delighted to stay up to date with the latest lighting trends. Today in the spotlight is hexagons and their use in decorative lighting will have you buzzing to try this look too!

Did you know that of all the shapes in the world, hexagons are the most efficient and least wasteful shape found in nature? They tessellate to create a wonderful pattern of symmetry and it’s this bold look that we love in our lighting.

Like a myriad of honeycombs, the strength and steadfast appeal of this structure are inspired by the echoes of nature. I naturally thought of beehives and it’s this link that sees the honey like tones work so well with this shape. The light produced will also help to cast a golden glow on hexagons, so which is the best haxagonal light for you?

Our Top Hexagon Lighting:

The EPSTEIN ceiling pendant (BUY NOW) and the KOLTON table lamp (BUY NOW) are a perfect example of how hexagons tie a look together. The open, light structure of the ceiling pendant contrasts with the dramatic table lamp, which is made to show the differentiation of shadows and reflections. Even the shade colours are polar opposites in colour, yet they are perfect companions as they have the core shapes in common.

"EPSTEIN

The MOXIE and the FELIX range of lights really focuses on the structure, placing as much importance on on the shape and finish as they do on the surrounding space and glimpses through to the detail they envelope.

The Luxury insert of white marble on the upper side of the base plinth contrasts with the warm hues of the brushed brass, which is topped with a rich, midnight blue hexagonal shade, complete with a gold lining.

If you’re looking for a contemporary slice of hexagonal action, you can’t fail to be impressed by the perfectly named HEXAGON range. These are available in either gold or black in a single pendant, or 3 or 5 light versions. Lit with integral LED, these offer a contemporary silhouette that fits seamlessly with the shape for a modern look. These are really clever, as they can also act as a divider screen in large rooms, or hospitality settings, hinting at a boundary but without blocking any light. We reckon that they’d also be great used in rows to give a three dimensional effect, what do you think?
