Where can I find colourful lighting I hear you ask?

"Colourful

Lighting and Lights trend experts are back and we’re coming at you with a brand new interior design inspiration for a fun look, full of little pops of colourful lighting that brighten interiors and lift the spirits.

If you’re simply not satisfied with a ‘painting by numbers’ approach to interior design, this is a look where haphazard creations and an eclectic pick and mix style are crucial, along with the melted marshmallow that glues it all together.

We’ve likened this interior trend to our very first visit to a sweet shop. Cast your mind back to trying to select what you wanted from all of the brightly wrapped sugary offerings on display. The essence of that wonderment, that overwhelming choice of ensuring your hard-earned pocket money was spent on something that you really enjoyed, not just settling for an out of date chocolate bar as it was simply half price. Make your home a sweet home with colourful lighting!

It’s all about treating yourself and choosing what makes you happy. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably tried to emulate a look that you’ve seen in a magazine, only to be disappointed with the outcome as it just doesn’t quite look right. With this trend, it’s completely down to you and what you enjoy, so anything goes! Throw out the rule book, go crazy for the things you like (just like a kid in the aforementioned sweet shop!) and take delight in watching it all come to fruition. Most of all, enjoy spoiling yourself without it all going to waist (see what I did there?!)!

"BrightSo, whether you’re into pastel colours like foam bananas and shrimps, or the bright sherbet colours of strawberry laces and flying saucers, this look will work for you. One thing that I personally feel really adds to this, is the use of stripes. The bold amongst us will start to unravel the brightest, stripiest wallpaper we could ever imagine whilst the more reserved may choose pastel cushion coverings or a table runner. Whatever you think works for your taste and room will ultimately look perfect. You don’t need to feel like a schoolkid handing in your first ever piece of homework; you are the owner of the artistry in your residence, so get prepared to succeed!

"Pastel

Coloured Glass Lighting

The Niro and Niven ceiling pendants from the Lighting Directory offer a sugar sweet explosion of colour that’s perfect for this look. Elegant tinted glass teardrop shaped shades offer a glossy sheen and they just look so fresh and contemporary!

"Niro

Bright Metallic Lighting

Another great look is from the Lighting Catalogue’s Vibrant spiral ceiling pendants. Available in either a 5 light or 8 light version, they add a classy and interesting sheen of colour.

"Vibrant

Quirky Colourful Lighting

If you like quirky, then the guest designed cluster of ceiling shades will appeal to your inner sense of fun!

"Eclectic

Colourful Glittering Lights

Using accents of bright colours adds a refreshing look, a splash of lollipop loveliness. If you’re not a fan of patterns and intricate shapes, the metallic range of ceiling shades from Innermost will be perfect for you. Made using a quality laminated vinyl which is usually reserved for the car and signage industry, they offer a glittering, sugar coated lustre that’s ideal to bring a candy crush look to your space.

"Metallic

Industrial Colourful? Oh yes, you can…

Another way that’s great to introduce colour into a setting is to surprise the senses with something that normally utilises more dull tones. Something out of the blue can render your interior tickled pink! We love colourful industrial lights and none more so than the range on offer from our Monaghan lighting range. The elegantly flute edged Ardle range have softened the look whilst maintaining the industrial heart of the light. Teamed with a vintage filament LED bulb and bright, candy colours, they will add authenticity to an industrial, vintage styled setting.

"Ardle

If you prefer the traditional factory pendant silhouette, the Wyse range will be right up your street.

"Industrial

A Pop of Retro Style and Colour

If your tastes are a little more modern but your still enjoy the historic vibe, retro styled lighting is available in all sizes and colours to add a vibrant style to your home. You don’t need to be yellow-bellied with the mustard here – this was one of the favourite tones of the time! Equally, they also have other colours available to suit your preference.

"Retro

A floral addition to our range from the Lighting Book, the Elena table lamp and ceiling shade are an instant ‘plug and play’ option for an immediate makeover! You can choose to have a plain cream shade or opt for the colourful one shown on the table lamp. The ceiling shade simply swaps on to your existing suspension so there’s no need for an electrician – these items can be with you on the next working day if you order before midday!

Instant Colour Makeover

"Elana

Another easy fit ceiling pendant for an instant facelift to consider, is the Jodi non-electric shade. Bursting with colour, it emulates a bejewelled look that’s perfect for adding a sweet touch of decadence to your home.

"Colourful

Bejewel Your Design

If you like adding the jewellery look to your home, another option is the Souk. A traditional looking candelabra style chandelier in a variety of bright colours, this adds a refreshing kick to the design for a fun yet decadent look.

"Souk

So, whatever your sense of style, you can have a guilt free colourful lighting treat that’s perfect for your setting!
