Adopting a Lagom lifestyle embraces a balanced lifestyle from a few simple changes to daily routines. Throughout the ages, British society has often (unfairly, of course!) been associated with eccentric behaviour and excesses\u2026 Yoyo dieting, raucous celebrities and binge drinking do nothing to dispel these views.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, as residents of the United Kingdom, we know that we are not all running around in tweed with ruddy cheeks, droopy moustaches whilst screaming \u2018Tally-Ho!\u2019, but we too aren\u2019t always blameless when it comes to stereotyping our nations\u2019 neighbours.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lagom is a Swedish word derived from a phrase, \u2018laget om\u2019 which means \u2018made about\u2019 and is frequently used to describe teamwork and that is perhaps a good analogy for how we can apply the concept to our lives. <\/span>Like Cinderella with her glass slipper or Goldilocks with her favourite bowl of porridge, chair or bed, things just don\u2019t fit, or don\u2019t feel right if they\u2019re simply not.<\/span><\/p>\n

We all know that too many cakes and biscuits are not going to be good for us, so it will come as no surprise that these should be eaten in balance and moderation, as part of a healthier diet if we are to adopt the principles of Lagom. But what about working long hours? Buying the best gifts? Punishing ourselves at the gym for hours on end each night? These are examples of where we can make some key changes that will help balance out our lifestyles and shine righteousness on moderation.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, whilst we are thinking of making these changes, we can start to consider how we can also adapt our homes to enhance and reinforce these balanced changes.
